Percussion with Kalani
Kalani teaches a variety of percussion instruments, including hand drums and small percussion. His percussion lessons are designed for intermediate players who want to expand their knowledge of rhythms, styles and instruments.

His percussion course focuses on basic playing techniques, different instruments and rhythms and styles. He demonstrates basic hand drum techniques including open, edge, bass and slap tones; muted edge and thumb/finger combination, and hand-finger strokes. He'll also teach you tuning of the hand drums, the right posture, and setup of the drums. Rhumba Colombia, Afro-Cuban salsa rhythms including Mambo, Songo, and Rhumba Guaguanco, and other Afro-Caribbean rhythms such as Calypso and Merengue are introduced in his percussion lessons. You can learn to play congas, bongos, caxixi, cabasa, clave, agogo, maracas, shaker, tambourine, and triangle from the family of Latin percussion instruments, and Dundun and Djembe from the African family of percussion instruments.
